Oh! (Sundown), 2026
hand-painted mild steel
Isabel Nolan’s representation of Ireland at the 61st Venice Biennale has been widely acclaimed.
Nolan continues her recent body of work at Art Basel with a new sculpture, a sister work to one in her Venice Pavilllion.
Oh! (Sundown ) presents a beautiful full length red curtain in hand painted steel - elegantly
swaying in the breeze but frozen in motion. Nolan draws on artefacts and ideas from the formative times of the early Renaissance; a profoundly turbulent period marked by period marked by religious and political upheaval, a time transformed by cultural and technological developments and to Nolan, an era mirroring and still influencing the times we live win now.
